Special Guest Designer: Patti J.

Hi everyone! Today is an exciting day! Patti J. is back as our Special Guest Designer! Here's what Patti has to share with us.

Great Impressions  was one of the very first stamps I purchased when I began stamping, in 2000.  It still makes me smile to use one of their products, and I've missed being a team member!

The amazing Ruza asked me to create something 'For Him'. I didn't have too many masculine stamps, so here's what I decided to do ... A Double Z-Fold (Joy?) Card seemed like a fun manly-fold.

Here is the card opened partially ...

Here is the card opened fully ...

And this little view shows the card from the end - double z's, right???

I used these Great Impressions Stamps: Old Fishing Chair (G331) and the Tags Sentiment (G483). This will go to a man at church who loves to fish and golf!

Thanks for dropping by today! Make sure you stop by this Sunday for our Great Impressions June Challenge!

Whale

Good Wednesday to you! Leah from Paper Blossoms here. I have a cute card to share with you today! This image makes me smile :)

This image is aptly named (G373) Smiling Whale. I think it's super cute! The sentiment is (G483) Tags. I stamped the whale onto white cardstock and used Copic markers to color it. I did the same with the sentiment banner.

Mermaid

Hello! Leah from Paper Blossoms here today I have a fun card to share with you that would be a great card to give to anyone who loves mermaids. My daughter does!

This fun image is called (H182) Rachel in the Sea. The sentiment is from (G483) Tags.  I stamped the mermaid and sentiment onto watercolor paper and used Gansai Tambi watercolors to color the image. Couldn't have a mermaid without watercolors! Some machine stitching and twine finish it off.

Isn't this a fun image?! I inked up and colored the Birthday Bicycle (G504) using Copics and to the same round focal mat added the sweet Flag Banner (E846).  The pretty pink background is stamped using the Twirly Background Sm. (E845) and my sentiment comes from the Tags (G483) set. Some stitching and sequins finish my card. I hope you like it!

Paper Roses

I hope you are well stamping friends! One of the very first stamps I fell in love with at Great Impressions was this lovely bouquet of flowers. They are perfect to color or paper piece! This is definitely one of my past favorite cards!

I started with stamping the card base in a light gray ink using the beautiful Queen Ann Lace (E807) image. It gives such a light feathery look. I then decided to paper piece my bouquet which is the lovely Flower Bouquet (J110) image. For my sentiment I inked up just one of the little banners from the Tags (G483) set. Machine sewing and a few butterflies finished it off. I hope you like it! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Enjoy the Day

Hello! Leah here today and I have a cute card to share with you!

I decided to use this super cute image called (F631) Bear with Flowers. I stamped it onto watercolor paper and watercolored. Once it was dry I stamped the sentiment from (G483) Tags on the same panel. The little bit of glitter on the button was poured on while the glue was wet from adhering the twine.

Pumpkin Puppy Birthday Card

Welcome back fellow card makers! I don't know about you but I never seem to have enough birthday cards around, so here's an autumn themed one to add to my stash:

I used a paw print embossing folder with a bit of distressing around the edges, paw print ribbon, and a paw print brad to go with this cute dog stamp (Pumpkin Puppy H259). I used the Tags G483 stamp for the banner sentiment.
Don't forget to join us for the Trick or Tree-t Challenge if you haven't already. There are still a few days left before this month is history! Have a great weekend and I'll see you back here next Friday!

Birthday Cards With A Twist

Hello! This week the DT is bringing you ideas on fun birthday cards that have a special element to them to make them extra special.

For my card I decided a pocket in the front with a gift of money peeking out would be sure to bring an extra to smile to someone special. For my image I used the super cute G505 Birthday Friends. I colored with Copics and added the G483 Tags Happy Birthday sentiment.

Wonderful Wednesday with Joni

Finally enjoying the spring, almost summer like weather, here in NH!
Although I guess we could use some rain.
So I decided to use this adorable G522 Spring Boots stamp from Great Impressions.
I colored the image with copics and used a circle die to fame the image.
I added the You're Specical from the Rubber Tags G483.
Then I added the sentiment C340 Happy Birthday.

Happy Birthday

Good morning, and Happy Saturday!

Today, I'm sharing a card I made using Great Impressions stamps.
I think you'll like this one - I think it turned out quite nicely.

To create this card, I used the following Great Impressions stamps:

To create this card, the image was colored with Copic markers.
I then cut from the bottom and from the top with a paper trimmer, in to the image, and fussy cut the bottom of the pots and the tops of the flowers and butterfly, leaving a 'split' panel.
Next, this panel was matted with a piece of patterned paper, and then adhered to the card front.
The sentiment was stamped directly onto the patterned paper, and fussy cut.
A few tiny 'blings' were added for fun.
The border at the top was one that Deone, the owner, included in my last stamp order.
The border both balanced the black bling at the bottom, AND hid a boo boo at the top.
Lol...creative opportunity, right?

Rainy Day

Hi there! Today I have a fun rainy day card using a super cute image called F605 Rainy Day Harry.

I watercolored the image using Tombow markers and a #4 round Winsor and Newton brush. For my sentiment I used the G483 Tags and selectively inked only the sentiment. My Tombow markers are also great for this!

You are Special

Hello! Today I have a fun spring card to share with you. I had a lot of fun coloring this image, it just makes me smile! My son came in to see what I was doing and said, "make the wheelbarrow red." So I did :)

I watercolored my image which is called H263 Springtime Louie with my Tombow markers and a Winsor and Newton #4 round brush. My sentiment was stamped and trimmed out using the G483 Tags set. I am sure ready for spring, how about you?

Happy Saturday!

Happy Saturday!

The snow is beginning to finally melt, and I'm hopeful that by Monday, I can drive
myself places again!  My last trip out that I actually drove, was on Feb. 13th!
Hope you're enjoying some sunshine where you are, as well.

On to my card!
I have a sweet card to share with you today that uses stamps from Great Impressions.

This was so easy to do.
I began with my white card base...folded it, and set it aside.

I cut a piece of cloud paper to about 5 1/4 x 3 3/4 inches.
My handy dandy scissors cut a little hillside, which I adhered to the lower section of the panel.
I trimmed it up to the right width after adhering.
The sentiment was stamped on a scrap of white card stock, adhered to the green hill, and an enamel dot finished that off.
The image was then stamped onto the cloud panel, as well as several pieces of patterned papers.
The birds and one birdhouse and leaves were cut from these patterned papers, and paper-pieced, by adhering the pieces directly onto the stamped image.
The focal panel was then placed onto a mat of black card stock, and then onto the white card base.

What a fun stamp this is!  It was easy to paper piece, and I can't wait to color it!

Patti J.
