Lace Doily Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

 The design team has been on our holiday break all week, so I'm sharing a past card I made for the House of Cards challenge that started at the beginning of the month and is sponsored by Great Impressions.

I'm using  D469 Vintage Merry Christmas, and J101 Lace Doily.
This is my last post here with Great Impressions this term. I've really enjoyed working with these cute stamps and the friendly team. I hope one day I will be able to come back.

Holiday Wishes

Welcome back friends! We're getting down there...just one more week until Christmas!

 Are you ready?

 I decided to make two cards today using the new H276 Our Family to Yours stamp. 

One with gold embossing, and the other with silver.

A very simple design, but I think this large stamp really makes for a pretty card, especially on these fancy metallic background papers.

Poinsettias

Happy Friday stampers! Emily here with another Christmas card to share.

 Using K40 Poinsettias & Berries, and D469 Vintage Merry Christmas

I did some fussy cutting and layering of the flowers: this stamp is perfect for that technique! I used Copics for coloring, then added Stickles to the centers and Perfect Pearls on the berries.
The sentiment is embossed in gold. I also sponged a bit of Distress ink on the cream cardstock underneath the sentiment.

While this image is great for coloring, I decided to use just the outline for my card, using some beautiful blues and browns, along with some fun trims. I added a bit of shine to the embossed dots with a glitter pen.

Fall Tree

I hope everyone is enjoying their Thanksgiving holiday break! The design team is also on a break this week, so here's a card I made back in September. I thought it was fitting for the season. Some of you may still have fall leaves, however we are already covered with snow!

Using G491 Blossoming Tree and D442 Delight

A very simple design: I just stamped the tree and sentiment on blue cardstock, using Copics for the tree trunk and Flower Soft for leaves. Then I layered that on some orange patterned paper and added a strip of skinny stitched ribbon. Have a wonderful weekend and I'll see you back here next Friday! Christmas Door

I've always wanted to make one of these door cards, and I think this Evergreen Wreath G496 stamp is perfect for hanging on the front! I added Flower Soft for some texture.

Blue and Gold Ornaments

Welcome back! Are you ready for another Christmas card idea? Today's card features

 H112 Decorative Bulbs, and D469 Vintage Merry Christmas.

 The bulbs are heat embossed in gold on vellum to give them a bit of that translucent look that real Christmas ornaments would have. Then I colored in parts of them with Distress markers and even a bit of gold Stickles to the bottom one with the stars. Then I glued them on top of cream cardstock before cutting them out. I poked holes through the tops so that I could hang them, using gold thread for the strings, as well as the sewing around the border. Then I stuck them down with foam tape for dimension. The sentiment is gold embossed as well.

Sweet Snowman

Good day! I hope it's bright and sunny wherever you are, and not snowman making weather...

Today I'm using the new K105 Sweet Snowman stamp. He really is sweet, don't you think?

I used Copics for coloring, and added a touch of Stickles to the dots on his scarf. This cute little guy would have worked for our Bling on the Holidays Challenge...come join us!

Downton Abbey Inspired Card

Hey everyone, I'm so excited to share this card with you today! When I found the Damask Background stamp in the store I was instantly reminded of Downton Abbey-my very favorite program on television!

 I did some silver embossing with the background stamp (Damask Background K91). Then I layered some lace trim, black velvet ribbon and tied a bow with some seam binding: all more things that remind me of Downton Abbey. I then used Being You D509 to make the sentiment tag.

Snowy Thinking of You

Hey guys, another Friday has rolled around so here's another card from me:

I used Just Me. Thinking of You. D405 and Snowflake Swirls E657. I made the background by coloring glossy cardstock with distress inks, glimmer mist and paint spatters. Thanks for checking in today! Remember to link up all of your Great Impressions creations in the Customer Gallery!

Thank You Chickadee

It may still be autumn according to the calendar, but it's not too early to start thinking about winter cards! It wouldn't be unheard of to see some of the white stuff in our area anytime soon.

 I remember one winter as a kid that we had an ice storm on halloween and didn't have power for a week! Well I think I could do without THAT kind of weather ALL winter long!

I decided to make this winter card into a thank you...one can never have too many thank you cards on hand, especially with the holiday season coming up! I've used G28 Winter Chickadee, and D509 Being You.

Rose Sympathy

Hello again everyone! I've decided we need some more sympathy card inspiration around here! If you're anything like me, you probably hate making these. It's hard to know where to start.

I've used Rose Trio G454, embossing them in white on vellum. I colored them from the back side of the vellum using Distress inks. The With Sympathy B178 sentiment was also embossed in white.

I think that vellum can be tricky to work with because you have to either hide your adhesive under other elements, or use some other means of attaching it to the base of your card. In this case I sewed it down to the cardstock underneath along the top, bottom and right edge. Then I put just a little bit of glue under each flower. Quick and easy to put together and I think these would be pretty in so many different colors! Thanks for stopping by today!

New Spider Stamp

I'm using one of this month's newly released stamps today for my card: AA25 Bitsy

Aren't these the cutest spiders you've ever seen?! I fussy cut them, and popped up a couple on foam adhesive, while the others swing from threads. The background is just patterened paper, and a fun scalloped die frames the whole thing. Thanks for stopping by today. Pumpkin Puppy Birthday Card

Welcome back fellow card makers! I don't know about you but I never seem to have enough birthday cards around, so here's an autumn themed one to add to my stash:

I used a paw print embossing folder with a bit of distressing around the edges, paw print ribbon, and a paw print brad to go with this cute dog stamp (Pumpkin Puppy H259). I used the Tags G483 stamp for the banner sentiment.

Harvest Truck

Welcome back again! I'll keep my post short and sweet today.

I used Abundant Blessings C384 for the sentiment, masking off the bottom half so that I could use this card before Thanksgiving. Image is Harvest Truck G471.

Hi again everyone! I've got a super cute image to share today. I really love this  Bear with Bumble Bees G526 stamp from the the July release. He's a lot of fun to color-so many possibilities!

Quilts & Friends

Welcome back again everyone and happy Friday! I've got a card today that perfectly combines two of my hobbies: cards and quilting!

This sentiment is called H180 Good Friends. I think I was channeling the last quilt I made that combined purples, greens and gold when I made this card. I played around with some pieces from a quilt block die to create the background. Thanks for checking in with us today at Great Impressions.

Harry Wheelin' Around

August is coming to a close soon...most schools have started up again, and the garden- well at least the garden will still be providing me with juicy red tomatoes for another month!

Isn't this new E875 Harry with Daisies stamp adorable? I made my own digital sentiment again to go with it. I layered some grass edge punched cardstock with a bit of inking and tucked my image in behind. The bottom strip is ribbon and patterned paper. You've still got a few days to link up with our August challenge, I hope you'll come play along!

Beach Birds

Happiest Friday to you dear stamping friends from all of us on the Great Impressions DT!

Emily here today with another card to inspire you. This is a real quick one to put together, and perfect for any summer occasion.

You've probably seen those large 12x12 patterned papers that are made from photographs-they're usually nature shots:grass, wood, rocks, clouds...or beach as I used here!

It makes for a quick backdrop for my little "peeps" C381 Birds on the Beach on the water's edge. I stamped a row of them onto a sand printed paper and layered a bit of blue vellum underneath. Couldn't be easier:no coloring involved! 

Amaryllis

Good day friends! I've got a card to share today which is not my typical style, but sometimes it's fun to stretch yourself. I was going for a more clean "artsy" look on this one- maybe something that could have been painted on a canvas.

I started with some watercolor paper and distress inks for the background. I stamped the E853 Amaryllis in black, then stamped over it in versamark and some clear embossing powder for just a bit of interest. I used D445 Patience for the sentiment, and a few hand stitches finish it off.
