Sweet Flower Bucket

Hi, friends!  It's Monday, and that means it's time for me to share some inspiration using stamps from the Great Impressions online store!  I  made a CAS nearly one layer card using a fun image and some dry embossing for you today.  Take a peek...

The image, F555 Bucket of Flowers, was stamped directly onto the card base, then colored with colored pencil, and embellished with some Stickles.  I LOVE the whimsy of this image!  All it needed to accent it was a few pink enamel dots!

The sentiment, D459 Sweetest Dreams, was stamped onto vellum, then added to the card base.  The enamel dots that were added to accent the image also help hold the vellum into place, along with the staples added to either side.

To create an anchor for my image, I dry embossed a fun lacy pattern to the bottom of the card base, then added some denim ribbon to hide the embossed top border that doesn't look that nice. ;)  I like the texture that the denim ribbon adds, and I really like the way this card turned out.  I hope you agree--and I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

That's all for me today, friends.  THANK YOU so much for stopping by to take a peek at my card!  I also would love for you to come and join our monthly challenge!  If you use a stamp from the Great Impressions online store, please link it up in our Customer Gallery, too!  Until next time, HUGS and happy stamping, friends! :)

Inspiration day with Carolyn..

Hi ya peeps!
It's my inspiration day and I wanted to share my take on triptych art.
I've been wanting to "cut up" a scene on a card for awhile now
and I finally did it but it's in four pieces and not three.
It's the thought that counts so I am pleased with the results.
I may have to create a couple of cards in the future to perfect
the technique. It's all about spacing, framing and choice of art.
The stamp I used is called F555 Bucket of Flowers.
I colored the image using Prismacolor pencils and used
typed words for the sentiment.
Thanks so much for stopping for some inspiration from Great Impressions. Be sure to check out the current monthly challenge and don’t forget to link your GI creations at our CUSTOMER GALLERY!
One last thing, be sure to “Like” Great Impressions on FACEBOOK!

Bucket of Beauty

I have a bucket of long stemmed beauties for you today, the Great Impressions F555 Bucket of Flowers.   Since Roses are red and violets are blue how could I do anything except make my theme red roses.

Since the roses were the theme for this card, I went with the red color scheme and added more roses to the frame to echo the roses in the Bucket of Flowers.  The background was just plain white card stock run through two different embossing folders one of them a rose floral.  Although the frames are rather elaborate,m I think that they really bring the focus to the image for this card.  I like the Bucket of flowers since it brings elegance to an everyday sort of object, the paint bucket.  I also like that this simple image has a lot of impact and is really easy peasy to color.
