Inked up Sympathy with Julie

Greetings, fellow stamp lovers!  It's Julie with you today.  I've been gone a few months while I fought cancer and chemo treatments, but I'm happy to say I'm in remission, feeling much stronger, and am back with the Great Impression Stamps design team again.  Yeah!  I love these stamps and this team!

I don't often heat emboss, but that's the joy of working with real stamps like Great Impressions Stamps instead of digital ones.  So, I got out the embossing inks and created a couple of cards that I needed using Great Impressions Stamps Wildflower Silhouette (H184) and With Sympathy (B206):

I created both cards by heat embossing the Wildflower Silhouette (H184) image with black embossing powder.  I then sponged on Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks in the background, using various shaped cutting dies to back them. I can never seem to have enough Sympathy cards, so I'm pleased to have these to add to the stash.

If you haven't joined the challenge yet at Great Impressions stamps, there's still a few more days.  A new challenge will start on May 7.

Thank You

Good morning everyone!  Robin here.  We are almost halfway through this months challenge and I have another card to show you.

With this card I am using Wildflower Silhouette (H184) paired with the sentiment Being You (D509).  I made a background with some watercolors and then stamped the flowers a few times across the page.  After that I stamped the sentiment on top, added some sequins and finished it off with some shimmer mist.

We would love it if you will join us this month in the Great Impressions January Challenge.  Don't forget if you use a stamp from Great Impressions leave us a comment and you can double your chances of winning.

Have a magnificent day!

Autumn Silhouette

Hello! Leah here from Paper Blossoms. I have a one layer card to share with you today that uses one of my favorite quotes.

The lovely silhouette image is called (H184) Wildflower Silhouette and I stamped it in Verasfine Onyx Black ink. I then stamped the sentiment (E763) Sunshine and then used several colors of Distress ink for the background. The Distress ink colors I used were; Spun Sugar, Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, Peeled Paint and Salty Sea. I finished it by rounding the corners.
Come and join our monthly challenge!  If you use a stamp from the Great Impressions online store, please link it up in our Customer Gallery, too!

Thursday with Toni

Hello!  It's time for more inspiration for you from Great Impressions

Here I used the D452 Blessings sentiment and H184 Wildflower Silhouette.  I was thinking of the harvest moon when I decided to contain the scene in a circle.  And, of course, it's during Autumn that we're thankful for what we've harvested, be it crops, my three lonely tomatoes, or a wonderful group of friends.  The sentiment is perfect for capturing that feeling.

Please stop by my blog to read more about how I created the card.   See you next week!

Don't forget about the GI monthly challenge!
You don't have to use GI stamps but it'd be totally awesome if you did!
Also, if you do use GI stamps, be sure to link up to the customer gallery to show us your fabulous work and for a chance to get a little year-end prize.

Enjoy the Day

Good morning!

I hope everyone is having a good week. Last night I whipped up a fun birthday card using three Great Impressions stamps: Polka Dots, Wildflower Silhouette, and Tags. I love layering stamps, which is what I did on the white die cut. I stamped the Polka Dot stamp with Stampin' Up's Pink Pirouette ink, then layered Wildflower Silhouette on top with Pink Lemonade ink by Impress. I carefully inked the Enjoy the Day sentiment with black ink before stamping it onto my tag.

(Supplies - Stamps: (Great Impressions) Wildflower Silhouette, Polka Dots, Tags. Ink: (Ranger) Archival Black. (Impress) Pink Lemonade. (Stampin' Up!) Pink Pirouette. Dies: (Papertrey Ink) Small banner, Mat Stack Number 6. Cardstock: (Stampin' Up!) Aqua Mist, White. Patterned Paper: Studio Calico. Other: Buttons, twine, enamel dots, ribbon.)

(In person the pink flowers match the light pink polka dots on the paper. I photographed the card over and over, but my flash distorted the colors a bit.)

What about you? Do you like layering stamps? I usually start with a piece of scratch paper and try out different stamps & inks until I get the result I want. It's all about experimenting, right? :)

Have a wonderful day!

Wildflower Silhouette

Happy Friday and thanks for taking the time to visit the Great Impressions Blog. Another summer weekend is here so I hope the weather is cooperating wherever you are. If it's rainy, that's a perfect reason to stay indoors and do some crafting.

My card for today is using the Great Impressions Stamps "wildflower silhouette"- H184. It is available in the online store.

I stamped the image in soft suede ink directly onto patterned paper. I love the look of doing that. My card colors are soft suede, daffodil delight and pool party. I used coordinating patterned papers.

A couple of reminders: There is a 20% off and free shipping in our online store. We  also are sponsoring the Play Date CafĂ© Challenge this week and giving away a little blog candy. See this post for more details.

Well, that's it for me for this week. So until next Friday..........inky hugs.
