Happy Birthday using Lace Doily

Hello!  Happy Monday!  This is Cheryl from Shestamps.

When I first started on the Great Impressions Stamps DT I warned you that I love the Lace Doily (J101) stamp and had a bunch of ideas on how to use it. I shared a couple ideas with you but then I put it away so that I could give some of my other new Great Impressions Stamps some attention. Well, this week I am back to using the Lace Doily stamp.

I stamped the doily four times using different colored inks. Then I used square Nesties to cut out a portion of each doily and attached them to a panel. I LOVE how this looks!

This would look great in other combinations and could be used for any occasion. I’m thinking about reds and greens. Add a Christmas sentiment and you would have a beautiful card.

I think this is still my favorite Great Impressions stamp. There are just so many beautiful ways you can use it. If you would like to see some of my other projects using it, you can click HERE or HERE. I’m going to put it away for awhile, but I know I will be pulling it out again soon.

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great week!

Delicate Doily

Good morning! I have a CAS Valentine's card to share this morning using a beautiful doily stamp from Great Impressions Stamps. Doilies seem to be popping up everywhere these days, and this doily stamp is the perfect size for cardmaking and scrapbook pages!

For my card, I stamped it using Pink Pirouette ink by Stampin' Up! onto Rustic Cream cardstock, then layered two die cut hearts & a heart button on top:

With Deepest Sympathy

Hello!  This is Cheryl.   Last week, I mentioned that I loved this Lace Doily (J101) stamp and had a lot of different ideas on how to use it. So today, I am using it again but in a bit of a different style. Usually I am scrambling to make sympathy cards when I need them. I never make them to have on hand. Well, I decided that this stamp would make a very elegant sympathy card and created this card for my stash.

I stamped the doily image 4 times on my DP and then cut out the layers. I assembled the various layers using pop-dots to add dimension.

Although I used a computer generated sentiment, Great Impressions has some lovely sympathy sentiments HERE.

If you missed my post last week, you can see another way to use this stamp HERE.

Don’t forget you still have plenty of time to join the January challenge at the Great Impressions blog. Use this fabulous sketch from DT member Erin and link up your project HERE.

Thank you for stopping by!   Have a great day!

A Little Lace & A Butterfly

Hello!  This is Cheryl.   This is my first time posting on the Great Impressions blog.   I’m so excited to be part of this talented team and to work with these wonderful rubber stamps.

The first stamp that I put on my Great Impressions wish list was this Lace Doily (J101 ) stamp. I have to admit that as soon as I saw it I had dozens of ideas running through my head. So, fair warning, you are going to be seeing a lot of projects in the future from me using this stamp.

I love that it can look vintage and a little grungy or it can look really elegant. It can be a focal point or a background. Oh, you can layer it too. The possibilities are endless!

Thank you for stopping by today!

Embossed Doily

Happy Friday everyone and thanks for taking the time to visit the Great Impressions Blog. Another summer weekend is almost upon us - so hope you have some fun plans.

A day of creating would be lots of fun. Remember that our monthly animal challenge is in full swing right now. More details here. Hope you can play along.

For my card today I used the beautiful doily stamp J101. I think it is such a feminine stamp and creates a feminine card.

I did an emboss resist technique. The image is embossed and then I sponged blushing bride ink all around. The embossed image resists the color.

I die cut a butterfly and added some ribbon and a bow to complete my card.

This card is so easy to recreate and could be used for a birthday, anniversary or even a wedding. All it takes is adding a sentiment.

I haven't decided how I will use this one yet so I left off a sentiment. But the center of the doily would be a great spot to add a sentiment.  Or some other ideas would be to die cut a circle or even a pennant and stamp a sentiment and voila card ready to go!!!

Hope you liked my sample for today. I will be back again next Friday.
