Happy Birthday ...

Good morning! I have a birthday card for a little boy to share with you today.

I stamped the Dump Truck (E636) with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Using a 0.8 Copic Multi-Liner I drew in a road for the truck to drive on. Copic Markers were used to color in the truck, along with a Silber 1.5 PITT Faber Castell Artist Pen for the fender and grill. I then added the Happy Birthday Sentiment (C340) with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, and applied distress ink above and below the road to represent dirt. Glossy Accents was added to the windows of the truck to make them shiny, and White Opal Liquid Pearls was used for the headlights.

Our Great Impressions May Challenge is live! Hop on over for all of the details, and join in the FUN! We can't wait to see what you create this month!

Until next week ... Enjoy!

Cowboy Boots & Birthday Wishes ...

Good morning! Ruza here to share one of my favorite cards featuring the Hat & Boots (E829) from Great Impressions Stamps.

First step was to stamp the Hat & Boots (E829) several times with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Kraft cardstock. I then pulled out my Copic Markers to color each piece, fussy cut them out, and layer it back together with 3D Foam Squares and Mini Glue Dots. I wanted to create a 3D effect with the Hat & Boots. It's a little hard to tell in the photo's but it looks truly awesome in person.

I pulled the colors from the boots for the background, including the faux stitching around the edges, added some distress ink around the image, and incorporated some wood DP.

That is all for me today. I will be back next week with another project featuring some amazing stamps from Great Impressions! I hope you will check out our current Great Impressions Challenge, and if you use some Great Impressions stamps make sure you link them up in our Customer Gallery!

Until next week ... Enjoy!

Elegant Butterflies Revisited ...

Good morning and Happy Wednesday! As we continue with our holiday break, I'm popping in to share one of my favorite cards featuring the lovely Elegant Butterflies (J119) from Great Impressions Stamps.

I fell in love with the lovely Elegant Butterflies (J119) when they came out, and have used them on more than one occasion. For my card I masked off the panel, and used a dauber to apply the ink. Once done I stamped the Elegant Butterflies (J119) along with the Happy Birthday Sentiment (C340) with brown ink, and added the enamel dots.

That is all for me today. I hope you will check out our current Great Impressions Challenge, and if you use some Great Impressions stamps make sure you link them up in our Customer Gallery!

Wishing you all a Happy & Prosperous New Year!

Until next week ... Enjoy!

Birthday Shaker Card ...

Good morning and Happy Wednesday! Ruza here to share another project featuring the awesome Great Impressions Stamps.

When I saw the Mason Jar (F616) from this months release the first thing I thought of was a Shaker Card.  To get the window for the Mason Jar, I stamped the image and used my knife to cut the image out. I went very slow and just a hair away from the exterior edge of the stamp.  I adhered clear cardstock behind the Mason Jar opening with 1/4" Scor-Tape, and then added 3D foam tape around the jar opening.

I then stamped the decorative part of the Mason Jar several times, colored each section with my Copic Markers, fussy cut them out and layered them back together. Next up was to stamp the Mason Jar on my cardbase. Once that was done I put some tiny beads in the center of the Mason Jar and adhered the cover with more 3D Foam Tape around the entire cover.

The colors on the cover were created with a variety of Distress Inks and a dauber. Now I did this a little backward ... I added the Distress Inks after I adhered the cover to my cardbase vs. before.

The Happy Birthday (C340) Sentiment was stamped on my Nestabilities Ribbon Banner Die, where I cut small slits on both ends to weave in some Toffee Twine which was used to tie it on my card. The final step was to add Enamel Dots, and Liquid Pearls were applied, around the cover.

Here's a closer look of the Mason Jar (F616) laying down ...

Happy Birthday ...

Good morning and Happy Wednesday! Ruza here to share another project featuring the awesome Great Impressions Stamps.

Today's card features the Elegant Butterflies (J119) sentiment and Happy Birthday (C340) stamps. I have a couple pictures showing how I created the panel on my card.

I used post it notes to mask both side of the panel (my photo only shows one side), and sponged a variety of dye inks with a dauber going from light to dark. Once the panel was complete I stamped the butterflies along with the sentiment in dark chocolate, and then sprayed a mist of water over the design using a Mini Mister bottle. Once the panel was dry, I used Scor-tape to adhere it to my cardbase and added the enamel dots.

When spraying water on your design you need to be careful. If you hold the sprayer close to your design you can get a blob of water in one central location. I tested my sprayer on scrap cardstock close-up and arm-length away to see the coverage. I found that in order to get a "fine mist" I needed to hold my design arm length away.

Here's a closer look ...

Happy Birthday ...

Good morning and Happy Wednesday! Ruza here to share another project featuring the awesome Great Impressions Stamps.

I love all things Country so when I saw the Hat & Boots (E829) in the store I knew I needed to play with them.

I am always in need of birthday cards so chose the Happy Birthday (C340) sentiment for today's card.

Wonderful Wednesday with Joni

This week we are spotlighting techniques.
Here I have used the Out of the Box die cutting technique.
If you have an image that doesn't quite fit your die you can still make it work!
Love the way the balloons are floating above the square die cut!
For more details you can find the tutorial here.
For this card I used the G521 Bear Floating By and
C340 Happy Birthday sentiment.
I heat embossed the sentiment.
Thank you Great Impressions for a fabulous year on the Design Team!

Wonderful Wednesday with Joni

Finally enjoying the spring, almost summer like weather, here in NH!
Although I guess we could use some rain.
So I decided to use this adorable G522 Spring Boots stamp from Great Impressions.
I colored the image with copics and used a circle die to fame the image.
I added the You're Specical from the Rubber Tags G483.
Then I added the sentiment C340 Happy Birthday.

Wondeerful Wednesday with Joni

I had so much fun coloring this adorable image
from Great Impressions.
I colored him with copics and die cut a circle to layer him on.
I added the C340 Happy Birthday sentiment.
